Description:

"An adventure travelers dream." Vogue Magazine. If you like adventure, you'll love Jaguar Reef Lodge. This centrally located lodge not only sits right on a golden sand beach but is within a short distance of the many pristine coral reefs, offshore cayes, protected rainforests and well-preserved Mayan ruins Belize is so highly noted for. To get to Jaguar Reef, you have to fly into Belize City and hop a commuter flight to Dangriga. From Dangriga, it's about a 40 minute drive or 20 minute boat ride. The Lodge does provide transportation from Dangriga for $50.

The lodge itself is quite unique with its 7 duplex thatched-roof cabanas (housing two guest rooms) nestled between the Maya mountains and the Caribbean Sea. It serves as a peaceful, comfortable retreat to kick your feet up and relax after a long day of adventure. Of course, if lounging near the newly added pool or laying on the beach and frolicking in the sea is your preferred choice of activity, that is always an option.

The tour desk can arrange boat and vehicle tours with local guides who are knowledgeable about the extensive flora and fauna which abound in Belize. The Lodge provides complimentary
mountain bikes and sea kayaks for guests. There is a dive shop on-property. The Lodge also offers Belize's first and only C-Breathe center. C-Breathe is a compact, floating, battery-powered air-supply device designed for shallow-water diving. A scuba certification is
not required.

The spacious cabanas feature Mexican terra cotta tile floors, queen-size beds, mahogany furnishings, bathrooms with tubs, a mini fridge with ice makers, ceiling fans and covered decks with views of the Caribbean Sea. The decor is pleasant and comfortable. Air-conditioning can be had but you have to request it.

Indoor and outdoor dining is available at the main lodge where exquisite Belizean fare is served. The local chef, Ms. Eileen Gonzales, possesses natural culinary talent you have to experience to believe. A gift shop and bar round out the amenities at Jaguar Reef.
